March Dinner/Zoom Meeting: Radon on California with Skip Walker

Radon in the Bay Area? While common in other parts of the country, the real estate industry in the Bay Area has long been under the belief that radon doesn’t occur here – but recent testing has proven otherwise. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer for non-smokers, and it’s estimated to be responsible for more than 20,000 deaths per year in the United States, more than falls in home and home fires combined.
5:30pm Inspector Bootcamp Municipal inspector and former home inspector John Fryer will review the Exterior section of the ASHI SOP and review pictures from recent inspections. (Attendees with earn an additional ASHI CE)
6:45pm Comment Review Brian Cogley will provide a report writing analysis using member-submitted comments to improve clarity and the principles of Identification, Implication, and Recommendation.
7:00pm Dinner Enjoy a handcrafted dinner by our professional chef, Malika Henderson. Menu: TBD
7:00pm Chapter Meeting During dinner, chapter president David Pagano will lead a short business meeting to cover chapter and ASHI business, committee reports, and upcoming educational opportunities.
7:45pm Main Speaker Skip Walker will give a presentation Radon in the Bay Area. (Attendees with earn an additional ASHI CE)
Skip Walker, is an ASHI Certified Inspector, a CREIA Master Inspector, an ICC Certified Combination Residential Building Inspector, an ICC Certified California Combination Residential Building Inspector and co-author of the Code Check© series of books. He is the recipient of the 2014 ASHI Philip C.
