$45Thor Matteson spent the last 15 years of his engineering career designing residential seismic retrofits, working as a subconsultant to FEMA, CEA, and the ICC, generating earthquake retrofit standards, and writing books about earthquake retrofitting and wood-framed shear walls. His presentation will focus on how earthquakes damage houses, how to protect against damage, and some common misconceptions about earthquake retrofitting.
5:30pm Pre-Meeting Chapter member Brian Cogley will review conditions from some of his recent inspections. (Attendees with earn an additional ASHI CE)
6:45pm Comment Review Brian Cogley will provide a report writing analysis using member-submitted comments to improve clarity and the principles of Identification, Implication, and Recommendation.
